The tools on this website are designed for free browser-based generation. You can create static QR codes and supported barcodes without a subscription. Some browser features, such as native image scanning and sharing, depend on device support.
Can I make a QR code for a website URL or plain text?
Yes. Open the QR Generator, enter a complete website address such as https://example.com or type your message, then generate and test the QR code. A static QR code stores the information you entered; changing the destination later requires generating a new code unless you control a redirect URL.
Can I encode a URL, text or number in a CODE128 barcode?
Yes. Choose CODE128 and the content type Link, Text or Numbers. CODE128 does not require exactly 16 digits. URL barcodes can be long and require a compatible linear barcode scanning app. For ordinary smartphone camera scanning, a QR code is usually more convenient.
What is the difference between CODE128, CODE39, EAN-13, EAN-8 and UPC-A?
CODE128 is a flexible, high-density linear barcode for text and numbers. CODE39 commonly encodes uppercase letters and digits. EAN-13 uses 13 digits, EAN-8 uses 8 digits and UPC-A uses 12 digits, each including a check digit. Retail identifiers should be properly allocated through GS1 rather than invented for commercial products.
Why is my barcode not scanning?
Check the selected symbology, valid character set, checksum, image sharpness, printing size, adequate quiet zones and contrast. Avoid cropping bars or placing text over them. Colored and gradient barcodes may look attractive but can scan less reliably than solid dark bars on white. Test the final printed label using the intended scanner.
How do I add my own logo to a QR code?
Choose Logo & Custom Styling, upload your image, select its shape and placement options where available, and generate. A logo obscures some QR modules, so keep it small and test the result. For printed materials, test the final size rather than relying only on the large preview.
How do I create a Wi-Fi QR code or vCard contact QR code?

Can I download QR codes and barcodes as PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF?
Generator pages offer image downloads, including PNG and JPG, plus SVG export and print-to-PDF through your browser. When branding is enabled, the exported SVG may contain an embedded raster image to preserve the complete branded layout. For an unbranded vector symbol, disable branding before SVG export.
Does adding QBar Code Studio branding change the scanned information?
No. The logo, tagline and QBarStudio.com signature are placed outside the code. The encoded QR or barcode data remains what you entered. You can turn branding off before download. Keep sufficient clear space around the symbol and always test scanning.
Do saved projects sync between devices?
No. Saved Projects uses local browser storage on the current device. Clearing site data, changing browsers or using another device may make those saved projects unavailable. Save exported files separately for a backup.
Are my QR codes trackable or editable after printing?
These tools generate static QR codes. The Campaign Builder can add UTM parameters to a URL, but it does not provide its own scan-count analytics or editable destinations. Tracking requires analytics on the destination website or another configured service.
How can I improve QR code readability on packaging or business cards?
Use a high-resolution export, keep a quiet zone around the QR, choose strong foreground/background contrast, avoid reflective or distorted surfaces, and test with multiple phone cameras at the intended physical size. Avoid putting your branding or decorative elements over the actual QR modules.
